Laos

Costs include:

Support
A Laotian interpreter to support the group, introduce the country and culture, and arrange visits to villagers etc as desired
A support vehicle to carry baggage and tired cyclists

Food
Cost includes all meals except on rest days. Every effort is made to ensure food is of the highest hygienic standard. Bottled water is available all the time.
Fruit and snacks are available while riding.

Accommodation
In most places we will stay in guest houses. These range from basic in the smallest villages, to comfortable (including air-conditioning) in the larger towns.
There is no need to bring sleeping bags or mosquito nets.

Medical
At a minimum you should have Typhoid and Cholera vaccination, a course of Malaria tablets; and anti-diarrhea tablets as a precaution.

Insurance
Medical and personal effects insurance is recommended.

Visa
We obtain a 4 week visa for Laos on entry at Luang Prabang airport. Cost is US$30.

Currency
As well as Laotian Kip, US$ and Thai Baht are generally accepted throughout Laos. Exchange rate approximately US$1 = Kp 100.

Air Tickets
No fares quoted, but if traveling from Auckland in sufficient numbers, group fares may be negotiated.
